Actually, the American flamingo breeds on the coasts of the Caribbean and on Galapagos. But in 1994, Cuban flamingos also appeared in the Zwillbrocker Venn in North Rhine-Westphalia. The Zwillbrocker Venn is a forest, moor, wetland and water area where the flamingos find sufficient plankton. A population of 20 to 40 birds has been resident there since the late 1980s. Reason enough to dedicate a recable to the bird.
