Collection: Flame bowerbird
The courtship behaviour of bowerbirds is unique in the bird world. For courtship, the Flame bowerbird builds an arbour. Along a slightly raised platform, the male builds two parallel walls of small branches. It decorates this "avenue" with objects, which it often collects according to its plumage colour.
However, the arbor is not used later as a nest, but serves exclusively for the female to be able to select her partner according to the quality of the arbor and the courtship dance shown.
